Second Set of samples is introduced in the sea and object of study of fouling and corrosion within the framework of the OCEANIC project.

On August 2, second field trials started at the Bimep platform. As in the first deployment, it consists of two frames, one with eight and the other with seven panels, in a total of 15 samples, twelve metallic and three plastic panels.

After 6-9 months of immersion, the structures and panels will be extracted and fouling and corrosion (in the metallic panels) will be analyzed. Results are expected to help on what type of materials should be used to decrease marine growth and corrosion.
